The 5 Secrets of Creativity

People love lists. They click on silly listicles. People will even think your arguments are better, just because you put them in a list. Or split them up into neat categories. This creates the illusion of order. Especially when it’s an odd number, for some reason. These lists don’t necessarily make sense, but we feel like they do. That’s why companies are addicted to PowerPoint. And why there are so many books with titles like ‘The 7 rules of …’. There are also many lists of types of creative ideas. Comparison, exaggeration and so on. Any random item from such a list might inspire a great idea. As long as you remember creativity comes from chaos, not order.
